Omnicom agency OMD has looked within to replace the head of its branded content unit, Helen Walker, who is returning to the UK.

The move back to the UK has triggered a reshuffle within the agency, with the co-directors of social media unit Word, Thomas Hutley and Jeremy Clark, being promoted.

Hutley has become the head of the Word division, while Clark has been promoted to the head of the branded content unit, Fuse.

Previously, Walker headed up both divisions.

OMD Sydney managing director Mark Jarrett said while it was a shame to lose Walker, the promotions of Hutley and Clark was just reward for good work.

“Tom and Jez have successfully driven OMD Word for the past two years, growing our social offering and consistently producing globally recognised and awarded work for our clients,” Jarrett said.

“At OMD we put a consistent focus on developing and rewarding our talent internally, so we’re delighted to be able to put our faith in Tom and Jez as they progress to the next level of their career.”

Both Hutley and Clark will report to Jarrett, and begin immediately.
