Ogilvy PR made a “small” number of redundancies last week, AdNews can reveal.
Industry insiders said Ogilvy CEO Richard Brett “unexpectedly” announced staff cuts after losing Samsung Electronics PR account to Omnicom Media Group earlier this year.
It is understood that Ogilvy Health's headcount remains unaffected.
Ogilvy confirmed some staff at Ogilvy PR had been let go, however, the agency declined to confirm the exact figure.
“Ogilvy PR can confirm that it has made a very small number of redundancies within the agency, following a decision by Samsung to consolidate all its communications services under one network,” a spokesperson told AdNews.
Ogilvy have declined to comment further on the matter of specific redundancies to protect the privacy of those affected.
