Ogilvy Network NZ has named Kelly-Ann Maxwell as CEO as WPP AUNZ brings together Ogilvy’s global offerings of advertising, brand and content, experience, PR and health together into the local market.
Since landing on New Zealand shores only three years ago from London, Maxwell has held the roles of Designworks CEO and then WPPNZ CEO: Creative Agencies.
Joining Maxwell in the leadership team is newly appointed group creative director Chris Schofield who will be partnering with promoted group creative director Nina East.
Schofield joins Ogilvy from Shine.
Bringing further international experience into the Ogilvy Innovation team is Matt Oxley who is joining as customer experience and innovation director.
Oxley joins the business from DDB Australia. Prior to that, he worked at TribalWorldwide London.
“The time is right to reposition Ogilvy in the local market. Our integrated platform for client growth is undoubtedly the future of advertising," Maxwell says.
"It’s an incredible network with a proven history that I’m keen to be a part of. I will be focussing on developing successful partnerships with all of our clients, while obtaining a firm focus on excellence and creativity.
“We have incredible talent at the helm who bring a breadth of experience to the Ogilvy Network. We are committed to building a network who represent an authentic New Zealand voice and we are focused on building a diverse and inclusive team who will meet our clients’ needs.”
WPP AUNZ launched the Ogilvy Network in Australia in March of this year with Sally Kissane at the helm.
Kissane was promoted from managing director to CEO, replacing David Fox who was promoted to lead Ogilvy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The move to create the Ogilvy Network is consistent with WPP's global plans to simplify and consolidate its offerings into distinct arms.
The new leadership team at Ogilvy Network NZ is the latest in a number of senior leadership shuffles and appointments in the New Zealand market.
These include the appointments of DDB NZ's Justin Mowday and Damon Stapleton to lead The Monkeys' recently opened New Zealand office, Priya Patel moving from DDB Sydney to become CEO of DDB New Zealand, Mark Cochrane's move from Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne to lead the agency's NZ office, and TBWA NZ's naming Saatchi's Paul Wilson as MD of its Auckland office.
