Nova Entertainment chief operating officer (COO) Louise Higgins has left the company after six years.

Higgins, who also oversaw operations of Nova's Melbourne stations in her role as COO, is leaving the company to pursue a new career direction.

As a result, Nova Sydney sales director Peter Colosimo has been appointed to the role of Melbourne GM as of 1 September.

Colosmio has more than 16 years' experience in media joining Nova in February 2013 as Sydney agency sales director.

In addition, group sales director Peter Charlton will take on the addition role of acting COO until further notice.

Nova Entertainment CEO Cathy O'Connor says Higgins has been a “valuable part of our successful senior Nova team” and thanked her for her contribution.

Higgins relocated to Melbourne in December 2014 to bolster Nova's national profile. The move saw her oversee management of its Melbourne stations, Nova 100 and smoothfm 91.5 along with her duties as COO.
