Independent agency Noisy Beast has wrapped up its inaugural Elevator Pitch, an initiative designed to give recent graduates a opportunity to break into the advertising industry.

The event, which featured panel discussions, networking opportunities, and one-on-one pitch sessions, culminated in two talented individuals securing a full-time, paid internship at the agency.

Recognising that the job market is highly competitive, with many young professionals struggling to secure opportunities, Noisy Beast sought to create an initiative that went beyond a standard internship program.

Over 40 ambitious graduates attended the event, with 32 stepping up to deliver a 60- second elevator pitch to Noisy Beast’s leadership team.

Two standout candidates, Coco Walsh and Clea McKeown, secured 6-12 month paid internships commencing January 2025, with Walsh joining the creative department and McKeown moving into account management.

Noisy Beast Group managing director Dave Brown said the agency wants to keep great, passionate minds coming into the industry – but it’s hard to get a start.

“By hosting the Elevator Pitch, we not only got to meet 40 enthusiastic individuals keen to break into the industry, but we also gave them an opportunity to build their network and gain invaluable insights," Brown said.

"We’re thrilled to welcome Coco and Clea to the team and look forward to making this an ongoing initiative.”

By showcasing the breadth of opportunities available across all divisions of the business, the event gave attendees a clear view of the dynamic career paths within the agency.

Clea McKeown said she left the pitch night feeling that, even if she hadn’t received the internship, she had gained industry insights, built her network, and experienced pitching in person.

"Noisy Beast has been welcoming and supportive from the minute I walked into the event, and now, two months in, I’m proud to be part of the team," McKeown said.

Coco Walsh said breaking into the creative industry as a graduate with no experience is incredibly difficult.

"I struggled for a year, applying for over 30 roles before discovering the Noisy Beast Pitch Night. It’s rare to see companies investing this level of time and effort into young talent," Walsh said.

"I stepped out of my comfort zone, and it paid off. I’m super grateful to be at Noisy and can’t wait to keep learning.”
