Macquarie Media is launching a new sports show Wide World of Sports in 2020.
The hour-long program will air Monday-Thursday from 6pm across 2GB in Sydney and 4BC in Brisbane.
Hosted by Mark Levy, Wide World of Sports will cover the latest news in sports.
“Wide World of Sports is an iconic Australian brand and we are thrilled to bring it to radio with a dedicated daily sports program,” says Greg Byrnes, Macquarie’s head of content.
“It’s great to have a sports fanatic like Mark Levy in the chair hosting. He’ll be able to draw on the full gamut of Nine’s talent for sports like rugby league, tennis, cricket, netball and so many more to cover the latest happenings and drive the daily agenda across the games and codes that matter to Sydney and Brisbane.”
Macquarie Media’s managing director Tom Malone says the new program also offers a new platform for advertisers.
“This extension of the Wide World of Sports brand will give marketers another platform to extend their reach and message so they can speak to consumers through WWOS on television, digital, social and now radio,” he says.
Earlier this year Macquarie Sports Radio shut its sports talk shows due to low audience figures.
