Victoria Racing Club (VRC) has appointed Nikki Clarkson chief marketing officer.
Clarkson joins the VRC with more than 25 years’ experience in brand management, having most recently held the role of CMO at SCA.
Clarkson will lead the VRC’s marketing, communications, content, digital, production and social media function across all Flemington assets year-round, headlined by the showpiece event, the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Rogers said Clarkson brings a wealth of experience and leading insights which will help the VRC achieve its strategic priorities.
“Nikki has extensive experience in understanding the wants and needs of customers, the power of media and content and the importance of storytelling," Rogers said.
“Nikki shares our enthusiasm for the future of Flemington Place and recognises the huge opportunities that lie ahead for the VRC. She will be an asset for our club, VRC partners and the wider racing industry."
Clarkson said she is looking forward to joining the VRC.
“I am thrilled and proud to be joining one of the world’s greatest sporting and entertainment institutions, and look forward to working with Kylie, the board and the wider VRC team to contribute to an exciting future for the club and the Flemington Place precinct," Clarkson said.
Clarkson joins the VRC’s Leigh Jordon as part of the new C-Suite Executive Team. Jordon was appointed chief racing officer in December and will continue to spearhead the VRC’s racing program and Flemington racing and training facilities.
Clarkson will officially commence with the club on Monday 17 March. Further appointments to the C-Suite Executive team will be announced shortly.
