Pacific Magazines has appointed Prue Cox as commercial director as it looks to further its “digital evolution”.
It's understood that Cox left rival NewsLifeMedia where she was chief commercial officer several months ago. She was promoted to the chief commerical role at NewsLifeMedia in November last year. Her role at News Corp is now filled by Paul Blackburn.
Her new role will see her accelerate Pacific's digital sales strategy, leverage relationships with Seven West Media and help clients with new opportunities. She reports to CEO Peter Zavecz in her new role.
“Prue Cox is widely regarded as one of the country’s best multi-platform media sales executives,” Zavecz says. “Not only are her digital sales and technology credentials second to none, but her ability to drive business transformation to deliver commercial results is equally impressive.
“Her appointment is indicative of our rapid digital evolution and multi-platform audience strategy.
She has more than 16 years of digital media experience and was previously managing director of taste.com.au and kidspot.com.au.
Other roles include working at Cafescreen digital out of home network, ninemsn startup branch Platform Nine and Yahoo7.
The appointment of a permanent commercial director means that Gereurd Roberts, who was appointed as general manager, food, family and home, and was continuing as commercial director on an interim basis, will now take the GM role full-time.
