News Corp has made a round of redudancies across its newspapers, according to the journalists' union, MEAA  (Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance).

The journalists are at The Australian (five positions), Daily Telegraph (two), Herald Sun (three positions), News Network (two positions) and Centre of Production Excellence (three).

The MEAA in an email to members: "In addition, there have been several further voluntary redundancies.

"This decision comes at a time when members are already being expected to do more with less."

News Corp has been contacted for comment.
