News Corp Australia’s Sport Network had made a series of editorial and commercial appointments.
Jessica Montague steps into the new role head of commercial content for the News Sport and Prestige Networks.
Montague, formerly executive editor of Vogue Australia, is responsible for driving commercial growth at the intersection of sport, fashion and lifestyle.
News Sport executive editor Jason Scott said Montague has a strong commercial mindset and a deep understanding of multi-platform media, sponsorship and partnership development.
"She brings to this new position a unique combination of journalistic expertise, editorial excellence, commercial acumen and a detailed understanding of News’ operations," Scott said.
Another key appointment is Eliza Sewell, named editor of Code Sports.
Sewell spent more than a decade as a sports journalist with the Herald Sun as well as National AFL Editor for the News Sport Network before joining The Age in 2024. She returns to News to lead Code Sports.
Will Hogan has been elevated to AFL editor.
Hogan joined News in 2021 as the Sport Network’s AFL chief of staff, he will now oversee the editorial direction and lead Australia’s biggest AFL newsroom with reporters in every state and territory in the country.
Jay Clark has been promoted to chief football writer for the News Sport Network.
For more than two decades Melbourne-based Clark has helped set the football agenda with breaking news, deep-dive features and issues-based reporting.
