News Corp redundancies move to the sales team

News Corp Australia has rolled out its next set of redundancies, this time targeting less senior level sales roles, industry insiders told AdNews.

Up to 80 of the media company's sales roles are going, the sources say.

News Corp had no comment.

The cuts come in an advertising downturn and form part of the company's biggest restructure in a decade, with long serving senior managers cut earlier this month.

Advertising spend weakened further in April with 5.6% weaker spend according to SMI (Standard Media Index).

Forecasts are for a negative to flat advertising market in 2024.
