SBS picks up Wallabies Autumn tour games

SBS has secured free-to-air rights for two of matches in the Wallabies northern hemisphere tour. The first match pits the Wallabies against France and the Stade de France, Paris on on Sunday, 20 November at 6.50am (AEDT). The second match is final leg of the Grand Slam against bitter rivals England, live from Twickenham Stadium, London on Sunday, 4 December at 1.25am. All games, including the clashes against Scotland and Ireland, can be watched on BeIN Sports 3. The Wallabies trounced Wales 32-8 in their opening encounter at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, last weekend, and next face Scotland.

Mindshare to win 21st Century Fox media account

GroupM’s Mindshare is tipped to win the £150 million 21st Century Fox media account across Europe, Campaign reports. This means Murdoch’s film arm has now concluded media reviews in Europe and North America, where Zenith and Vizeum have split the business, with agency bosses in Asia-Pacific still waiting for a decision. In Australia, Zenith holds the account with several holding groups vying for the business with about $30 million in annual billings. A review was first announced in May 2015.

Snapchat’s Spectacles vending machine

Snap Inc. made waves a few weeks ago when it announced Spectacles, a pair of $130 sunglasses with a camera on it that connect to your smartphone to take and send snaps. Now the company has revealed how you’ll actually be able to buy a pair: from bright yellow vending machines, called “Snapbots”, that will travel around the US selling the device. Each Snapbot will be in place for about a day, starting with one located right by Snap Inc.’s headquarters near Venice Beach in California.

Realestate.com.au launches VR app

Australians can explore and view properties in virtual reality, thanks to the launch of realestate VR by realestate.com.au, now available on Daydream, Google’s mobile virtual reality platform. In what REA are calling Australia’s first dedicated virtual reality property app, it features a range of active realestate.com.au listings, allowing consumers to walk through their potential next home, in their own time. The number of properties available in VR is set to increase as the technology is more widely adopted.
