Snapchat Memories tool lets people save snaps

Snapchat was built on the idea of sending fleeting photos, but its latest tool will let users save and share their snaps. The messaging app announced yesterday on its blog it is rolling out “Memories”, a tool that lets users save snaps and edit their stories on Snapchat’s server instead of their camera roll. The saved snaps can be edited and shared again through their story or in messages.

Nissan and Melbourne City Football Club partner up

Nissan has been named the official automotive partner of Melbourne City Football Club. The partnership is the first of its kind in Australia’s A-League and W-League, following Football Federation Australia’s regulations allowing clubs to sign automotive partners for the upcoming 2016/17 season. The deal will see the Nissan logo feature on the sleeve of the men’s team’s home and away jersey and the sleeve of the women’s away jersey.

BWM Dentsu boosts creative department

BWM Dentsu has made two new appoints to help lead its creative department. Jon Foye has joined as head of art from a role at MJW. In his spare time Foye is also a children's picture book illustrating, and was awarded Best-Designed Children's Illustrated Book at the 2015 Australian Book Design Awards for his book “Mike I Don't Like”. Denny Handlin will be creative group head at the agency from Clemenger BBDO Sydney where he was senior copywriter.

News Corp to introduce paywalls across regional titles

News Corp has confirmed it will be introducing a paywall model to its regional publications before Christmas. The decision follows News Corp’s metro success at a regional level and the understanding that customers are becoming more comfortable paying for access to content. Townsville Bulletin has being used as an example where a paywall would work.

M&C Saatchi appoints digital creative director

M&C Saatchi has promoted David 'Jacko' Jackson to digital creative director, reporting to chief creative officer Andy DiLallo. Jackson had previously been a senior art director and in his new role, will be responsible for driving integrated digital ideas across the agency. Before working at M&C Saatchi Jackson was a senior art director at VML/GPY&R Sydney.
