Nine, Prime and WIN fail to balance deal
After ongoing negotiations, Nine and WIN have failed to come to a deal around licensing in Western Australia meaning that residents in the region will no longer be able to receive Nine programming GEM and Go via the local network. A jopint statement from WIN and Prime said they had “worked in good faith … unfortunately, the parties were not able to reach an agreement by the deadline”. The announcement comes as SCA and Nine switch on their deal in Queensland, Southern NSW and Victoria . Nine says all both WIN and Prime “rejected all offers to find a reasonable negotiated agreement” claiming it's a “:a terrible disservice to their audience”.
SBS reveals Tour de France sponsors
SBS has today announced Škoda, Colonial First State, OFX and Optus as its broadcast partners for the 2016 Tour de France.
From July 2 – 24, SBS has over 200 hours of coverage of the race. All stages of the 2016 Tour de France are live and exclusive on television, online and mobile devices, plus twice-daily highlights programs and daily stage replays.
Adam Sadler, national television and digital Sales Manager, SBS Media said: “With cycling now one of Australia’s largest participation sports, we’re proud to be the exclusive broadcast partner of the Tour de France. Again in 2016, we see the return of marquee sponsors ŠKODA and Colonial First State, and welcome new partners OFX and Optus. Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours also return as our Taste le Tour partner for 2016."
