Maccas agency accused of stealing ideas
A South American agency has been accused of stealing the idea for a campaign from British GIF artist Cyriak Harris. The ad promotes milk and features a herd of dancing cows. Harris tweeted yesterday “Wonder how much @McDonalds paid someone to copy my video. I didn't even get paid to make the original”. It raises the question on the blurred line between homage and plagiarism. According to British newspaper The Independent McDonald’s is investigating the claims. There are also claims that someone from the Buenos Aires-based agency in question Juan Solo has posted on a forum that the McDonald's spot was in fact inspired by the artist.
