Nathan Soulsby joins NOVA Entertainment 

Nathan Soulsby has been appointed to the role of music and commercial partnerships manager at Nova Entertainment.

Soulsby joins Nova Entertainment from Authentic Entertainment where he held the position of group sales manager.

“The addition of Nathan’s strengths and formidable experience to an exciting area of the business that has experienced rapid growth over the last two years through partnerships like Nova’s Red Room Global Tour... will continue to propel Nova Entertainment’s growth in partnerships around music, entertainment and content,” said Megan Hales, head of commercial partnerships and business development.

Marketforce take out prizes at Siren Awards

West Australian agency Marketforce has taken out top prizes for their ad “iiNet NBN Buffering Cat Shark” created for the internet service provider client. The agency scooped the single category and round two overall of the 2016 Siren Awards for the radio ad that demonstrates how your favourite YouTube clips 'suffer from the buffer.'

Creative director of marketforce, Pat Lennox said: “There’s nothing quite like that feeling of anticipation when you hit play to check out a cool clip. And there’s nothing quite so frustrating when you can’t watch that clip….because the buffering wheel is telling you to cool your jets.”

MMA calls for entries to inaugural Australia/New Zealand SMARTIES awards

The Mobile Marketing Association is calling for entries in the first ever Australia/New Zealand SMARTIES awards. The global awards program – which has been running since 2004 - is dedicated to recognising creativity, innovation and strategic thinking in mobile advertising.

Rohit Dadwal managing director of the MMA in APAC said: “We’re very excited to expand our SMARTIES Awards program to Australia as it is a great way for us to recognise the consistent, excellent work that comes from the country,”

The awards are judged by senior brands marketers and agency leaders with prizes given out in 21 categories across the following areas: Marketing Strategy, Channel/Media Strategy, Enabling Technologies, Creative Awards and Overall Industry Awards.

Fox Sports turns on first netball channel

Australia's first dedicated netball channel will switch on tomorrow coinciding with the launch of the 2015 Netball World Cup.

From 7 August until 16 August Fox Sports 505 will feature netball programming 24 hours a day, including all 64 matches from this year's World Cup. In addition Fox Sports News will provide up tot he minute results and highlights throughout the day.

Fox Sports CEO Partick Delany said: "Netball is one of Australia’s most popular team sports boasting the largest female participation. The Netball World Cup strengthens our ties to the sport and we can’t wait to beam the best netballers from around the world into Australian homes."

APD bolsters advertiser partners 

APD, the 360-degree digital services firm, has added a raft of clients to its performance marketing division in Australia, including The Star in Sydney and L’Occitane for search engine marketing.

A list of advertisers who have joined the APD affiliate marketing services includes Scoopon, Worldcare Travel Insurance, 1Cover Insurance, BravoFly, gaming company Razer and Southern Cross Travel Insurance.
