Radio stars offer sneak TV peek

Radio duo Hamish & Andy have unveiled a sneak peek at their new Channel Nine show, 'True Story'. Last year, after 13 years in radio, the Southern Cross Austereo pair revealed they would be exiting radio in favour of new pursuits – namely TV. At Nine Entertainment’s Upfront and Personal Event in November the funnymen, who previously fronted four successful Gap Year series for Nine, as well as two Caravan of Courage specials, revealed they would star in an all-new format, “set to be one of the most exciting programs in recent years”. Brief clips have been revealed on social media such as below:

Nine bets on relationships and reality TV again

Following on from last night’s Married at First Sight finale, Channel Nine has been upping the promotion of what is hopes will be its next ratings darling. Named ‘The Last Resort’, a tropical island acts as the backdrop to what it calls “a real-life soap opera as five long-term couples take part in a bold social experiment in an attempt to save their troubled relationships”. It says the couples have all reached “rock bottom” – struck by problems of infidelity, trust, and intimacy. At the end of the month, after an intensive relationship boot camp with Australia’s leading relationship experts, we’ll see if the couples call it quits or commit to each other forever. We’ll also see if the show sees Nine keep up its strong start to 2017 in the TV ratings war.

Tesla's market value overtakes Ford

Tesla's market value has overtaken Ford after shares in the electric car maker rose on Monday. The surge followed the news the company had record vehicle deliveries for the first three months of the year. Tesla reportedly delivered 25,000 vehicles in the preliminary quarter of 2017, up 70% from this quarter last year. As a result, Tesla peaked more than 7% higher than Ford. While Tesla's shares are growing fast they are still only a fraction of Ford's, which sold almost seven million vehicles last year, Tesla sold 76,000.

Twitter launches location sharing

Twitter has added a new feature to help businesses run customer service through the Twitter platform. 'Location-request' means businesses can share their location over direct messages with customers. The update enables a store-locator function and customised responses depending on where a customer lives. TGI Fridays is the first to adopt the technology.

Jeep's first Snapchat lens makes your hair fly

Jeep has released its first Snapchat lens, after initially using the platform in its 4x4 campaign last year. The lens, titled 'Jeep Hair Don't Care', sees users' hair fly around as though they’re in a top-down car. Last year, Jeep ran sponsored geofilters with Snapchat where users could apply mud tracks over photos and videos. The lens is being promoted on Jeep's Facebook and Instagram pages with social videos.

Mercedes-Benz pulls advertising over harassment allegations

Mercedes-Benz has pulled its ads from Fox News' 'The O'Reilly Factor', due to new allegations of harassment emerging over the weekend. The claims, which were reported by The New York Times, involve five women reporting they had been paid out a total of $13 million by either Mr O'Reilly or Fox News parent company 21st Century Fox. The allegations prompted a quick response from Mercedes-Benz, which withdraw all advertising shortly after the claims were made public.
