News Corp appoints senior executives

News Corp Australia’s chief executive Peter Tonagh has announced three appointments to the company’s executive team, Vicki Aristidopoulos, Sharb Farjami and Nicholas Gray.

Aristidopoulous has been appointed to the new role of group director of real estate and home. Farjami has been promoted to the new role of chief commercial officer of network sales, and Gray joins the company’s executive team.

In late 2015, Tonagh and Michael Miller announced their new roles at News Corp, ushering in a new era for the business.  

Newsmodo partners with NBL

Newsmodo has become the content supplier for the National Basketball League.

The online content marketing agency witll provide content support on a weekly basis for the NBL's 2015/16 season.

By delivering game previews, reports, features and bespoke photography each week, we empower fans to feel closer to the action than ever before," Newsmodo CEO Rakhal Ebeli says.

January results see out-of-home revenue soar

The out-of-home industry (OOH) today reported net revenue of $48.2 million for the month of January, an increase of 13.7% from the same month last year.

OMA Media reports the OOH industry finished 2015 with a 17% increase, taking the industry’s net revenue to an all-time high of $677.8m, up from $579.3m in 2014. Roadside billboards came out on top, with $19m revenue generated, followed by roadside, transport and retail.

The Australian Radio Network just released its OOH strategy for Kiis Network, investing significantly in the 'high impact' medium.

Insect repellent to protect Aussie athletes

Bushman has become the official insect repellent supplier for the 2016 Australian Olympic team at Rio 2016.

The partnership will provide protection to athletes against mosquito-borne diseases, such as the Zika virus that scientists believe is causing abnormalities in newborns across the Latin American region.

Australian Olympic Team chef de mission Kitty Chiller says: "With the current concerns about the Zika, and other similar diseases in South America, this partnership is both timely and beneficial to all athletes.”

Fairfax Media forms data partnership with ProductReview.com.au

Fairfax Media has announced a commercial data partnership with ProductReview.com.au.

The synergy promises quality data with Fairfax reaching new consumer segments and delivering marketing campaigns to advertisers as well as digital advertising for brands. Fairfax will target in-market shoppers of the categories on the website and gain access to ProductReview.com.au data.
