ZO poaches News Corp sales director
ZenithOptimedia Melbourne has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointment of Katrina Stratton to the role of group business director. Stratton has worked for 20 years in media agency and media owner sides, most recently for News Corp.
Isobar wins Moose toys social
Isobar has won the social media business for toymaker Moose Toys - creator of the hit Shopkins (pictured) range of minature gracery store characters. Moose Toys is the fourth largest toy manufacturer in Australia and the US. Shopkins, which was developed in 2014, has sold more than 240 million characters, making it the number one selling toy in the US. Isobar will lead social strategy, content creation, community management and paid media execution of the business’ social media accounts.
Bauer Xcel names consumer lead
Bauer Media has named women’s marketing specialist Jane Waterhouse as general manager for consumer at its Xcel Media division. Waterhouse will assume business ownership of key products in the Bauer Xcel digital Women’s Network. She joins Bauer from Sister Communications a marketing agency she founded seven years ago that specialises in engaging with women.
Social media startup Tribe raises funds
Jules Lund's social media startup Tribe is seeking $5 million from investors for expansion, on a company valuation of $15m.
Tribe chief executive Anthony Svirskis told the AFR would be seeking new private capital from a combination of strategic investors, family offices and small to mid market funds. This is in comparison to competitor Vamp which recently announced its plans to raise $15 million in an ASX IPO.
Uber launches UberEats in Melbourne
Uber has launched UberEats in Melbourne, allowing food from Melbourne restaurants to be ordered through the ridesharing company's UberEats app. Melbourne is the third city in the world to get UberEat.
Naked Communications wins Mojo Power energy account
Naked Communications is teaming up with new energy retailer, Mojo Power, to help launch their brand in the Australian market as a "disruptive" player in the category. The brand will be launching to NSW customers over the coming months, before expanding to other states.
Coca-Cola rolls out new Zico brand flavour
Coca-Cola has launched Zico Velvety Chocolate, a brand new addition to its ZICO Coconut Water range, in a bid to "drive mainstream appeal" and stand out in an increasing competitive market.
Zico Velvety Chocolate is a chocolate-flavoured option to coconut water, tapping into the current health trends. It is targeted at consumers who lead active lifestyle, particularly adult females.
