More mobile users streaming shows on the go

Commuters on their mobiles have driven a surge in usage of entertainment streaming service, Presto.

The company says data shows a rise in viewer figures at around 6am, peaking at 7am and tapering off before the start of the work day. The next viewing surge peaks between 5pm and 6pm trailing off before dinner time and rising again after 9pm Presto said the figures point to a rise in “commutertainment”.

The new insights come as the streaming service revealed it has acquired seasons one to seven of the hit US comedy The Big Bang Theory.

97% of Aussie companies not 'exceeding' digital expectations

Just 3% of Australian companies feel they are “exceeding” their customers' expectations when it comes to providing a digital experience, a new study has revealed.

The latest report from Accenture found that making sure customers are fully satisfied is the top reason why companies are trying to go through with a digital transformation.

This come as Australian businesses said they are putting “improving customer experience” at the top of their list of business priorities for the next year. Accenture identifies setting a digital vision and strategy, organisational readiness and measuring digital success as the top three challenges to companies becoming “customer focused digital enterprises”.

VW and Audi face class action lawsuit

In the latest blow to VW Group, an Australian law firm has launched a legal action against the automaker following revelations that VW tricked emissions testers into thinking its cars were more environmentally-friendly than they are.

Bannister Law said it had already received "significant interest" in the action from disappointed customers. There are over 90,000 affected vehicles in Australia including diesel models from VW, Audi, Škoda and Seat manufactured between 2008 and 2014. The lawsuit will also target Audi Australia as separated but connected legal entity.

Seven promos live-streaming app

Seven West Media has released a promo for its live streaming app, 7live, which will have its full launch tomorrow.

The app, allowing users to screen free-to-air content from the media company live on any PC or mobile device 24/7, will go live in time to coincide with the Melbourne Cup.
