Last Resort fails to crack top 20

The ratings for Nine's Last Resort continue to dwindle as it failed to make it into the top 20 programs for Wednesday night. While the actual audience numbers are not available, Last Resort pulled in less than the 20th program which received an average metro audience of 434,000. The show debuted on the 7.30pm Tuesday time slot in early May to an average metro audience of 414,000, and has since been moved to Wednesdays at 9pm. It follows in the same footsteps as Ten's reboot of the Biggest Loser, which attracted 450,000 on its premiere and was later dropped from prime time. It was then moved to lunch time viewing, but there has been no decision at Nine as of yet to do the same.

Radio host back-pedals on True Story accusations

Nova radio host David 'Luttsy' Lutteral has retracted his claim Andy Lee had stolen his idea and used it to create Hamish & Andy's recently launched True Story. The show, which debuted on Sunday to an audience of more than 1.2 million, features Australian actors recreating true stories from everyday Australians. According to Luttsy, the show is a replica of his 'Cracking Yarns' show, which began filming with Nine but was never completed. Luttsy claimed he told Andy about the idea more than three years ago. Now, Luttsy has apologised for the accusations during a statement made on his breakfast show. According to The Fix, he said: “While I pitched a concept that had some similarities I accept that Hamish & Andy came up with their idea independently from mine”. A Nine Spokesperson said: “Radio Karate have confirmed that the format for the program 'True Story with Hamish & Andy' was conceived, and was in development by Radio Karate, over a year before Andy and Luttsy met for a drink in New York”.
