KFC makes social cock up

KFC is the latest brand to make a social media cock up - this time, it's literal. KFC Australia tweeted out a very #NSFW (Not Safe For Work) image earlier today that showed what appeared to be the opening scenes of a porn movie with what looked to be penis pixelated out.

It has since been deleted, but it wasn't an error. The tweet was the start of a social campaign to launch a hot and spicy range, according to a statement to News.com.au. The offending image being tweeted says it all (this one's from Mashable.)

Coty reviews cosmetic arm creative and digital accounts

Global beauty and fashion company Coty is reviewing the global creative and digital accounts for its cosmetics arm. The review is being handled by Roth Observatory and covers all cosmetic brands, including Bourjois, Rimmel London and Sally Hansen.

In 2011, Laird & Partners claimed the global ad account for Rimmel London from J Walter Thompson.

ZenithOptimedia is Coty’s global media planning and buying agency. The Publicis Groupe agency saw off three other shops to win the business in 2015. OMD had previously held the account in the UK, Ireland, the US and Canada but resigned it earlier in the year.

Commercial Radio launches review of Code of Practice

Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) will launch a triennial review of its Code of Practice tomorrow (16 April).

The code regulates commercial radio content and outline procedures for the handling of listener complaints.

CRA CEO Joan Warner says: “The Code undergoes an extensive review process every three years and is an important process in ensuring contemporary commercial radio broadcasting reflects current community standards and expectations.”

Public comments for the review must be received by 5pm, 28 May.
