WPP’s global digital boss Rob Norman steps back
Rob Norman, GroupM’s global chief digital officer, is set to retire after 31 years with WPP. For five years he has led the digital strategy of GroupM and has run a number of arms of the business in his time. He is stepping back from a full-time role and tells AdNews that he will remain will WPP in a senior advisory role, but other opportunities may present themselves in the future. Norman is seen as Sorrell’s right hand man when it comes to digital, and has been vocal about brand safety, viewability, ad fraud and transparency across the media agency landscape. It’s likely he will continue to be. The Brit, based in New York, will step back at the end of the year. “Happily, this is not goodbye. We thank Rob for his loyal service and for continuing to share his passion and vision for this business as GroupM and the industry continue to evolve,” said GroupM global CEO Kelly Clark.
