Grey Singapore 'I Sea' app has been called out by technology experts, removed from the Apple store and criticised by the client for being a scam. The app, which was intended to save refugees from drowning, came under fire after winning a Bronze Lion at Cannes. Grey tells AdNews the app is still in testing and has satelitte issues to work out. The agency believes a developer has pushed the story that it is fake for an unknown reason.
Cannes Lions states in its new rules on scam: “Speculative and conceptual advertising are not eligible for entry.” Cannes Lions has been contacted for a statement.
