News Corp creates popcorn-scented papers
News Corp has created popcorn scented newspaper to promote The Great Night in Family Movie Collection which launches this weekend. “Scenting technology” was used to infuse specific pages with the smell of buttered popcorn on over 800,000 News Corp newspapers. The marketing stunt used 200kg of popcorn scent as a sensory marketing initiative. It is anticipated the stunt will reach around 3.5 million readers across Australia across The Daily Telegraph, The Courier-Mail, The Advertiser, the Herald Sun, The Mercury and NT News. Each DVD costs $2.60 with the purchase of any metro or regional newspaper.
Adobe MD exits
Adobe has appointed Suzanne Steele as managing director for Australia and New Zealand, following the exit of Chris Skelton. Skelton had been in the role for three years and at the company since 2012. Steele joins Adobe from Experian where for the past two years she has led the ANZ operations as managing director.
Pacific Magazines creates new head of agency role
Pacific Magazines has promoted Christie Taylor to the newly created role of head of agency. Taylor is tasked with deepening relationship with agencies partners for Pacific. Taylor joined Pacific in February this year, previously holding roles at Seven West Media and Bauer Magazines. She will report to Prue Cox.
