Newcastle Greater Mutual (NGM) Group has appointed agencies after taking its retail creative accounts to pitch, AdNews can reveal.

NGM has re-appointed independent agency Enigma to its Newcastle Permanent account.

And appointed independent It’s Friday to its Greater Bank account.

AdNews revealed the account went up for pitch as “part of a normal review" in November.

Enigma has held the account since 2007 after a three-way creative pitch.

A NGM Group spokesperson confirmed the news to AdNews.

"As we continue our evolution as NGM Group we’ve recently held a creative pitch process for our retail brands Newcastle Permanent and Greater Bank," the spokesperson said.

"Key for us was alignment with NGM Group’s strategic goals, where we sought to leverage our brands’ strong reputation in our NSW Hunter region heartland while exploring new ideas and opportunities for growth in interstate markets.

"We are thrilled that we will continue to work with local agency Enigma for Newcastle Permanent, building on an almost 20-year relationship, while Greater Bank will be partnering with It’s Friday as we refresh their offering.

"We received some really high quality pitches which made the decision difficult, but it’s great to see so much talent and the strength of creative industries in Australia."
