The AdNews Challenge will return to Sydney in November with a revised course at Clifton Gardens Reserve.
Competitors from last year will recognise the kayak, running and swimming legs of the course, but the bike leg has been replaced by a demanding obstacle course of eight mini challenges.
Designed in collaboration with The Sandhill Warrior, Rob Rowland-Smith, the obstacle course will include climbing over water-filled hurdles, crawling through a pipe, carrying a log, running over tyres, crawling under mesh and carrying a kettle bell.
Competitors can enter as individuals, who will compete in all four disciplines, or as teams of four. Trophies for the best-performing teams will be awarded in 10 categories: male team, female team, mixed team, creative agency, media buying agency, digital agency, PR agency, media company, marketer company and industry supplier. For individuals there will be trophies for the best male and the best female.
Registrations are now open on the AdNews Challenge website. Earlybird rates, ending on 30 September, are $176 for individuals and $704 for teams, including GST. Children of competitors can compete in the kids competition free if registered at the same time as their parent.
This year's major sponsor of the challenge is Bauer Media. Supporting sponsors are Alto LandRover, Adshel, Amobee, APN Outdoor, Fairfax Media, MCN, Mi9, Mindshare, realestate.com.au, Salmat and Seven Media Group. Associate sponsors are Adstream, GSP Print, ICUR, Lavender, Maxus, Pandora, Paykel Media, Starcom and ZenithOptimedia.
The AdNews Challenge is an industry fund-raising event with 10% of all registration fees going directly to UN LTD. There is also a team fund-raising competition in which teams compete with each other by sourcing sponsorship from within their own business and across clients, suppliers, friends and family. All team fund-raising proceeds go directly to UN LTD.
