ViacomCBS, the owner Network 10, has asked staff to work from home from today for an indefinite period as a precaution against the coronavirus.

The network’s precautionary move will not impact 10’s broadcasting or commercial work. There are no known cases of COVID-19 at the company’s sites.

The move follows alerts in other media and advertising industry companies, including OMD and Foxtel Media, both of which sent staff home after a potential coronovirus case, which later came out as a negative.

NIne last week sent home two presenters and some production staff, and disinfected part of its Willoughby headquarters, after an on-air guest later tested positive to the coronavirus.

At 10, a “minimal” number of employees will continue to come into the office.

“As a precautionary measure, ViacomCBS has asked that all employees work from home until further notice,” says a Network 10 spokesperson.

“The safety and well-being of our employees continues to be our number one priority.”
