The Geelong Advertiser has changed its masthead for the first time in its 181-year history.

The News Corp title - the oldest newspaper in Victoria and the second-oldest in Australia - will be called the Djilang Advertiser online and in print for the duration of NAIDOC Week, until Saturday.

The initiative is in a bid to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements and contributions of Indigenous people.

The move is similar to The West Australian, owned by Seven West Media, rolling out their first Noongar-English bilingual edition of the paper back in May to highlight National Reconciliation Week.
