Myer has named former Simplot marketing boss Tara Lordsmith as group general manager of marketing.
She will report to recently appointed chief merchandise and marketing officer Daniel Bracken.
Lordsmith had been running her own growth consultancy since leaving Simplot last year after 10 years.
Braken said: “Her considerable brand strategy and consumer insights experience will add significant strength to our marketing team.”
Lordsmith will focus on building on Myer's recently introduced brand position, omni-channel solutions and overseeing advertising, media buying, brand management, visual merchandise, digital, events and public relations.
She will start in mid-January 2015.
Lordsmith is also on the board of directors for the Australian Marketing Institute.
