BMF promotes Aisling Colley and Richard Woods to GM roles
Creative agency BMF has promoted its head of account management Richards Woods and deputy head of account management Aisling Colley to the role of general managers. Colley has been at BMF for over a decade, successfully climbing the ranks to deputy head of account management in 2020. Woods was promoted to head of account management in 2020 after joining the Enero group six years prior.
UM appoints Vanessa Stuart
UM Australia has appointed Vanessa Stuart to the newly created role of head of new business and marketing, joining the national leadership team. Stuart’s 15-year career in marketing and communications spans content production, digital, experiential/events and broadcast television working both nationally and internationally as client lead for iconic brands such as Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Nestle, Toyota, Bonds and L’Oréal.
Yahoo Aotearoa appoints new head of sales
Yahoo has appointed Tama Sweetman as head of sales, New Zealand. Sweetman joins from Spotify where he was previously group sales director based in Victoria. Sweetman will be leading the adtech company’s sales team across Aotearoa. He will be responsible for connecting advertisers and agencies to Yahoo’s market-leading demand-side-platform (DSP) and supply-side-platform (SSP) products.
Tonic Media Network's senior commercial hires
Belinda Mascitti has been appointed state sales director (VIC, SA, WA) at Tonic Media Network, based in Melbourne. Mascitti will lead the company's commercial sales efforts in these markets and brings with her experience from Fairfax, WIN, oOh!, VMO, News Corp, and ARN. Jenni Workman has been appointed as state Sales director (NSW), based in Sydney. She will be key to the company's objectives to expand its footprint across the state, with both agencies and direct clients. With over 25 years’ experience in the industry, she has worked at Fairfax and Are Media and at media agencies, Starcom and Loud Communications.
News Corp hires oOh!media's Tom Pitney
News Corp Australia has appointed Tom Pitney to the newly created role of strategy director for commercial content. Pitney has more than a decade of experience as a strategist and marketing professional. He joins from oOh!media where he was strategy director and product lead for Junke Media and its agency offering.
Khemistry appoints general manager and strategy director
GrowthOps has appointed Susan Lyons as general manager of behaviour change creative agency, Khemistry. Lyons joins from Publicis where she was executive strategy director. She has also worked at CHE Proximity, PwC and Clemenger BBDO. Kelly Brightwell will be stepping into the role of strategy director and joining Khemistry’s senior leadership team. Brightwell brings a 15-year track record establishing, growing and repositioning brands across tourism, financial services, health and retail having previously worked for Suncorp, Lorna Jane, Velocity Frequent Flyer, Virgin Australia and Virgin Blue.
New CEO of Commercial Radio Australia
Ford Ennals, the chief executive of Digital Radio UK, has been appointed the CEO of Australia's peak industry Commercial Radio Australia (CEO). Ennals was the founding CEO of Digital UK, a consortium of British commercial and public service broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel Five, working to successfully convert UK homes to digital TV. He replaces Joan Warner who steps down at the end of March. Ennals will move to Sydney from London to start the role on April 4.
TBWA\Sydney's two senior creative hires
TBWA\Sydney has expanded its creative department with the addition of creative director Ross Weythman and senior art director Simon Hayes. Weythman joins TBWA after working with MacArthur ‘Genius Grant’-winner Dr Saul Griffith to establish Rewiring Australia, an organisation dedicated to getting Australia to electrify everything and lead the world on decarbonisation. Hayes recently came back to Australia from New York where he spent three years at Anomaly working on brands including Budweiser, Crown Royale Whiskey, Bulleit Bourbon and Booking.com.
Alissa Sargeant appointed to head talent recruitment at Meltwater
Alissa Sargeant has been appointed as the new head of talent acquisition (APAC) at media monitoring and social analytics platforms Meltwater. Sargeant is an experienced HR professional with two decades of experience in senior regional roles at technology firms across Asia Pacific and Japan.
TRA opens Sydney office and appoints new managing partner
TRA has expanded its Australian footprint, opening a Sydney office and appointing insights leader Terri Hall as managing partner. Hall commenced her career with Kantar Sydney with a focus on setting strategic direction across brand, communications, innovation and customer experience initiatives for clients including Arnott’s, Coca-Cola, Diageo and Breville. Hall’s remit will be to build the Sydney business, plus appoint a team of leading research and insight experts to service cross-category brands looking to grow.
Izzi McGrath and Madeline Catanese join whiteGREY
WhiteGREY has expanded its creative department by appointing Izzi McGarth to art director and Madeline Catanese to copywriter. McGrath has experience working at Clemenger BBDO Wellington and CHE Proximity. She was also previously nominated RMIT’s student representative for AGDA. Catanese previously spent three years at The Shannon Company, where she became the lead day-to-day client contact for the likes of VicHealth, Slater+Gordon, Sustainability Victoria and Industry SuperFunds.
Wunderman Thompson promotes Nick Muncaster and Paulina Embart
Wunderman Thompson Australia announced two key leadership promotions. Nick Muncaster expands his current role as managing director Melbourne to also include the Sydney office. Paulina Embart is promoted to general manager of Melbourne.
Seven Network announces new appointments
Sarah Stinson has been appointed to the newly-created role of director of morning television, taking on management responsibility for the breakfast and morning programs, Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise and The Morning Show. Sean Power takes on the role of executive producer of Sunrise, while Chloe Flynn, currently managing editor of The Morning Show, steps into the role of executive producer.
