Black Sheep Advertising appoints Michael Gagliardi co-creative director
Black Sheep Advertising has appointed Michael Gagliardi co-creative director, joining David Ormston. Gagliardi (Gags)brings more than 15 years’ experience, working on brands including Coopers, South Australian Tourism Commission, Yalumba, Kathmandu, Holden, and RAA. Most recently he wrote and creatively led the South Australian Department of Premier and Cabinet’s New State of Mind campaign and Trade Up campaign for CITB.
VMO appoints Toyah Elder group sales manager
VMO has appointed sales leader Toyah Elder group sales manager in the NSW team. Elder started her media career at Val Morgan Cinema before moving to QMS as an account manager selling across direct and independent agencies. She was also appointed as the first City of Sydney sales specialist, managing launch partner activations and working with internal teams to aid in the progress of the network rollout, before being promoted to senior account manager.
Enigma makes two senior appointments
Australian full-service independent agency Enigma has made two appointments to its senior leadership team. Former The Monkeys and Emotive staffer Ciaran Miller-Stubbs joins Enigma as its new executive director, while Havas creative Matt Ennis has been appointed as its new creative director. Miller-Stubbs will lead the agency’s Sydney team, while Ennis will work on creative across the agency from Enigma’s Newcastle office.
Because promotes Steph Babin to managing partner
Brand activation and experience agency Because has promoted Steph Babin and opened a new office in Brisbane. Babin, who joined the business ten years ago as just the third employee hired after the agency was founded in Australia, has progressed through the ranks from the early role of account executive. Having been named business director in 2020, she now takes on the role of managing partner.
Forethought appoints Diane Shelton and Andrew Slot joint managing directors
Marketing advisory, strategy and analytics company Forethought has appointed Diane Shelton and Andrew Slot joint managing directors, effective immediately. Shelton and Slot will work closely with and report to Forethought executive chairman and founder, Ken Roberts. The appointment marks Shelton’s return to a full-time executive role at Forethought. She joined the business in 2017 as executive general manager before being promoted to CEO in 2018. Slot joined Forethought in 2013 as GM, consulting, after holding senior marketing and brand roles at Billabong, ADvTECH and BlueScope Steel.
Constant Contact hires Gerard Smith as APAC head of partnerships
Digital marketing and automation platform Constant Contact has named Gerard Smith as its APAC head of partnerships. Smith joins from WP Engine where he held the role of APAC head of agency partnerships. In that role, he was responsible for fostering greater growth among digital marketing, web development, e-commerce, and media agencies across the region, and engaging and growing the company’s reseller community.
Tangram expands its footprint across Asia Pacific and Europe
Australian agency operations company Tangram, which currently operates in Asia Pacific, the Nordics and Europe, has hired Sai Chiu, Ogilvy’s former global commercial finance director of nine years across London and Singapore, to launch the UK office and lead operations. He’ll work closely with Copenhagen-based Christian Arpe-Hansen who heads up Tangram Europe. Tangram has also hired data and digitisation integrations and analytics specialist Jun Hao Woo, based in Singapore.
