It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

Monkeys co-founder Scott Nowell departs

Scott Nowell, co-founder of The Monkeys and group chief creative officer of Accenture Song ANZ, is leaving the business he co-founded in 2006 with Mark Green and Justin Drape. Nowell has helped some of Australia’s most recognised brands with celebrated work for Telstra, Qantas, NRMA Insurance, Sydney Opera House, Uluru Statement from the Heart, and the highly awarded summer campaigns for MLA’s Australian Lamb.

Avid Collective appoints Ezechiel Ritchie commercial director

Avid Collective has appointed Ezechiel Ritchie commercial director. The incumbent CD Tom Gunter remains with the business, shifting to product director, focused on developing the commercial offering and leading the enhancement of the capabilities of the Avid platform.

The Brag Media expands commercial team

Jessica Hunter has been promoted to GM of The Brag Media, while Batoul Peters joins the business from WeAre8 as head of national client partnerships. Hunter most recently served as GM of partnerships and previously had a near three-year stint as head of brand and agency partnerships with Woolworths Group’s media business Cartology.

SCA's Andrea Salmon jumps to Nine

SCA's Andrea Salmon has moved to Nine to be director of sales - Melbourne. She will have responsibility for Nine’s metro, regional, streaming and on-demand TV, radio, print and digital publishing teams. Salmon starts on January 22. She takes on the position previously held by Sam Brennan, who has taken on a new role as director of strategic partnerships - retail media. 

CMO of THE ICONIC

Joanna Robinson, named interim CMO of fashion retailer THE ICONIC in April, has stepped into the role permanently. She will lead the company’s marketing, creative, production, and customer service teams to drive strategic initiatives and has previously held roles with companies such as Unilever, Esteé Lauder, Johnson & Johnson, P&G, Colgate, L'occitane, Tyrrell's Wines, and Chatime.

Motio's new national sales director

Place-based and audience experience media company Motio has appointed Tom Zavecz national sales director based in Melbourne. Zavecz has spent the last six years with Shopper and more recently as group sales manager for Victoria at Cartology, post the acquisition of Shopper. 

Media Republic gets a chief strategy officer

Kelly McIlwraith to the newly created role of chief strategy officer at Media Republic. McIlwraith has more than 25 years of experience in the media industry, having worked both overseas and locally, most recently as the global marketing and strategy director for the Global Traffic Network.

Former Hogarth COO named Genero's MD of global client solutions

Genero, a global creative and production solution for enterprise brands, has named Chloe Lane MD for global client solutions. Lane has 20 years of experience spanning both agency and client-side in the UK and Australia, with stints at TBWA, JWT, The Engine Group and a recent post of four years as chief operating officer at Hogarth Australia. Post Hogarth, Lane embraced strategic client consultancy roles, notably with The Woolworths Group.

Metafan names Brad Schultz CEO

Sports marketing and data analytics firm metafan has appointed Brad Schultz as its new CEO. His most recent role was EGM of marketing and product with the Collingwood Football Club, where he played a key role guiding the club to exceed its membership records consecutively for two years.

Isabella Gonsalves becomes GM of Reale

Isabella Gonsalves has been named the GM of Reale, an agency that connects brands with their target audience through strategic marketing. Gonsalves will lead a team responsible for Reale’s suite of services, including community management, social media, influencer talent management and representation, events, and PR, encompassing clients such as FC Barcelona’s Barca Vision, Australian Red Cross and Australian Health Vitality.

Mark Ritson joins Lakeba Group Board 

Global venture studio Lakeba Group has secured Mark Ritson for its board of directors. Ritson has a Ph.D in Marketing and is recognised globally for his MBA teaching at business schools. He has worked as a global consultant on marketing and branding issues for a wide range of clients including McKinsey, Westpac, Sephora, Ericsson and Flight Centre. For more than a decade, he has worked as an in-house brand consultant for global luxury goods giant LVMH.
