It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

Toby Aldred promoted to MD of Saatchi & Saatchi

Saatchi & Saatchi has promoted Toby Aldred to the new role of managing director. This follows the appointment of Mandie van der Merwe & Avish Gordhan to chief creative officers, as CEO Pat Rowe re-shapes the agency. Aldred, who has worked at the agency for ten years, will operate in his new role alongside his position as chief client officer for The Neighbourhood – the Publicis Groupe connected platform that partners with The Arnott’s Group.

VMO and Val Morgan Digital make two senior leadership promotions

VMO and Val Morgan Digital have made two senior leadership promotions, Liam O’Meara to Val Morgan Digital national sales director and Alex Anthony NSW sales director of VMO. O’Meara started with Val Morgan Cinema in 2016 in the role of group sales manager before taking on the role of NSW sales director of VMO in 2019. Last year, O’Meara took on the role of GM, outdoor and digital sales NSW. Anthony started his career in outdoor advertising in 2018 as an account manager at VMO. In 2020, he was promoted to group sales manager.

R/GA promotes Michael Titshall to CEO of Asia Pacific

Creative innovation studio R/GA has promoted Michael Titshall to the new position of CEO of Asia Pacific. Titshall for the past four and a half years has led R/GA Australia’s operations in Melbourne, Sydney, and, most recently, Canberra. In his expanded role, he will now also oversee R/GA’s Asia offices, partnering closely with R/GA’s executive leadership team in the region.

The Works promotes four

The Works, part of Capgemini, has promoted four across operations, project management, creative and finance. Jen Hird steps into the new role of GM of Operations from her previous role as head of project management. Rosie Carey, newly appointed head of project management, previously worked within the agency as a creative project leader, while senior creative Tim Brothers has been promoted to creative lead. Maria Nguyen has been promoted from finance director to finance and HR admin director.

Mark Vidler named head of sales for Silverbean

Sydney-based affiliate marketing agency Silverbean has appointed Mark Vidler head of sales. The agency also appointed Tina Traut senior affiliate marketing manager, Lauren Larken affiliate marketing manager, Mathilde Berthelot affiliate marketing executive and Alice Lundgren account executive. 

Rachel Fountain becomes content director for NewsCast

News Corp Australia has appointed Rachel Fountain content director, audio (news, sport and lifestyle) for NewsCast, the company’s on-demand audio division. Fountain will work alongside the company’s newsrooms to develop news, sport and lifestyle audio programming as the business continues to build its commercial audio offering. This includes commissioning and creating audio programming to complement the podcasts produced by News Corp Australia’s mastheads.

Apparent appoints Jason Hill chief strategy officer 

Full service agency Apparent has appointed Jason Hill to the newly created role of chief strategy officer. Hill returns to Australia from Singapore and joins Apparent after more than eight years as chief strategy officer at Ogilvy.

Horacio Silva has been named editor-in-chief of Robb Report Australia & New Zealand

Silva has returned to Sydney to take up therole, after a 25-year-stint in New York, where he held various senior editorial roles, including at T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Departures and W.
