It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

Rosie Thompson-Jones joins Yakkazoo

Venetian Media Group (VMG)’s full-service marketing agency, Yakkazoo has hired Rosie Thompson-Jones to spearhead its experiential and events division. Effective immediately, Thompson-Jones will nurture Yakkazoo client relationships and drive new business opportunities.

oOh!'s Tim Murphy joins QMS' executive leadership team

Digital outdoor media company QMS has appointed Tim Murphy to its executive leadership team. Based in Melbourne, he will join QMS in February 2024. Murphy has more than 16 years’ experience in the out of home sector, most recently as chief sales officer at oOh!media. He is joining QMS in a newly created role.

Coles 360 appoints heads of data intelligence & measurement and product & platforms

As Coles 360 enters its second year, the retail media business has welcomed Andy Ford, who will head up the Coles 360 data Intelligence and measurement function. Ford joins Coles 360 as head of data intelligence and measurement following nearly a decade at Meta where he was director of marketing science. Former REA Group head of product, Elle Hassett, also recently joined Coles 360 in a newly created head of product and platforms position.

Ollie Beeston joins Reunion as partner - creative

Brand experience start-up agency Reunion has appointed Ollie Beeston as partner - creative. Beeston was most recently APAC Metaverse lead at Meta’s Creative Shop where he led development of work spanning traditional film craft, Virtual Production, VR, WebXR, AR and branded content for brands including Hyundai, Cadbury, Adore Beauty and Meta’s own Oculus.

Dentsu International's Patrick Darcy becomes CEO of Capability.Co

Capability.Co, the human potential platform helping enterprises to unleash the full potential of their people, has named Patrick Darcy to the position of CEO. Formerly Dentsu International's chief product officer and chief data and technology officer, Darcy joins with a remit to raise investment capital and forge key strategic partnerships to accelerate the growth of the business in Australia and overseas.

Vistar Media promotes three across APAC

Rebecca Pirrie will take on the leadership role of group sales manager as she works closely with managing director for APAC, Ben Baker, in driving client results. Henry Fisher has moved into the role of senior director, client services & analytics, taking on the added responsibility of overseeing data & analytics for APAC.Kurt Woodford has stepped up to senior manager, supply operations, APAC. This will see Woodford play a bigger role in managing all media owner integrations for APAC.

Thinkerbell's Anjana Khallouf takes over as Shameless Media MD

Anjana Khallouf, Thinkerbell's former national head of earned, has joined youth media company Shameless Media in a newly created managing director position. Khallouf wrapped up at Thinkerbell last month after growing the agency's earned offering over the past two years. Prior, she spent 11 years establishing and building OMD Fuse (now Create) in Auckland and Melbourne respectively.

Are Media appoints Lisa Hudson to general manager - homes

 Are Media, Australian omnichannel content company for women, has appointed Lisa Hudson to the newly created role of general manager – homes, effective October 16. Hudson is an experienced media executive in Australia, with a career that spans magazines, newspapers and digital media. She was also formerly content specialist at Coles, responsible for the Coles magazine.

EssenceMediacom Sydney names two client managing partners

EssenceMediacom Sydney has appointed Amy Jost and Hannah Partner as client managing partners. Jost will be responsible for building EssenceMediacom’s partnership with KFC by immersing deeper within the business to set strategic goals and drive business growth for their brand. Partner joins as client managing partner across NBC Universal, Warner Bros and PlayStation. She has held senior roles across many global brands including Nestle, Coca-Cola and ING.

Diana Carniato joins Compass Studio as GM

Independent digital marketing and PR agency Compass Studio has appointed Diana Carniato as the organisation's first-ever general manager. Carniato was most recently the associate director of communications, engagement and leadership for South Pole, the global climate solutions and decarbonisation company.

Jaxsta promotes two, names CMO and CPO

Jaxsta, the world's largest database of official music credits, has promoted Alli Galloway to CMO and Jessy Trengove to chief product officer. Galloway takes on the role of CMO after two years with the business, having joined in 2021 as head of audience and creative. Trengove joined Jaxsta following the completion of the acquisition of Vampr in June, having served as Vampr’s head of insights since early 2020. She will define and align the product vision across the group's different business units, which encompass a variety of product types and business models, from B2B and enterprise SaaS, to consumer app and ecommerce.
