Movers & Shakers: OMG, Nine, ARN, oOh!

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland from this week and towards the end of last year.

OMG's Kristiaan Kroon named COO

He will be responsible for OMG agencies, including agencies OMD, PHD and Hearts & Science, and will oversee the leadership team that had reported to OMG ANZ CEO Peter Horgan, who will be stepping down in 2025. 

Nine's Michael Stephenson jumps to ARN

He will be responsible for leading the delivery of the broadcaster's commercial strategy and operations.

Leanne Glamuzina appointed head of marketing at oOh!media

She joins from Boomtown where she was marketing lead, and has also worked in senior marketing roles at Koala and was group marketing director at Nova Entertainment. 

Hugh Marks to run the ABC

Marks, who in 2018 merged Australia's oldest newspaper company Fairfax into the television network Nine, starts at the national publicly-funded broadcaster in March.

Ryan Ferguson appointed Snap MD

He joined Snap as head of sales in July after more than 16 years at Google, where he held various senior leadership roles.

SCA's Tim Young resigns as CFO

Executive head of finance and transformation Toby Potter has been appointed acting CFO.

Droga5 promotes Hugh Gurney and Joe Sibley

As part of the continued move towards a more national approach, Gurney and Sibley will report to Droga5 Australia CCO Tara Ford and work closely with chief strategy officer Milla McPhee and CEO Matt Michael. 

IMAA's new board of directors

Michael Petersen (Pivotus CEO and founder) joins existing board members Jacquie Alley (The Media Store COO) as chair and Stephen Fagan (Media Republic director) as treasurer.

Lisa Muxworthy joins Nine

She will take responsibility for a new Growth Content reporting team and editor, social media teams, as well as search, audio and video content. 

BMF's Tara McKenty joins AKQA

McKenty will collaborate closely with AKQA Australia’s senior leadership team, including executive creative director Tim Devine, chief strategy officer Iona Macgregor and general manager for Sydney Justine Leong.

Nine appoints news directors in Queensland and Western Australia

The recruitment for the Sydney TV news director role is underway. 

INNOCEAN's Wesley Hawes starts at 72andSunny

He will spearhead the creative team in Australia and lead the agency alongside head of brand Laura Popa and president Ross Berthinussen. 

Brian Collins named head of growth at Orange Line

Reporting to GM Aishling Farrell, his role will focus on identifying growth opportunities, building new business and enhancing Orange Line’s presence across international markets.
