Amanda Watts promoted to managing director OMD Sydney
OMD Australia has promoted Amanda Watts to MD of Sydney. Watts, with a 15-year OMD tenure beginning in Singapore, has spent the past seven years in leadership roles with OMD Sydney. She was promoted from head of Telstra to GM of Sydney in 2021 and joined the agency’s national executive team.
Jack Nunn returns to DDB Sydney as creative partner
DDB Sydney has appointed Jack Nunn creative partner leading the McDonald’s account. Nunn rejoins DDB Sydney after two years in London at agencies Special and Ogilvy. During his previous time at DDB, he helped create award winning campaigns including Macca’s ‘Middle Child’, ‘The Sting Re-Mix’ and the launch of McCafe’s ‘Coffee Fit For An Aussie’ platform which is still an enduring asset for the McCafe brand today.
The Monkeys promotes Danny Pattison and Max Rapley to associate creative directors
The Monkeys, part of Accenture Song, has appointed senior creatives Danny Pattison and Max Rapley to associate creative directors. With over 10 years’ advertising experience in London and Sydney, Pattison has worked on global brands Adidas, Amazon and Unilever, and Australian staples such as NRMA Insurance, Telstra, Blackmores, CGU and MLA. Rapley, also with 10 years’ experience between Sydney and Los Angeles, has made work for global and Australian clients including Amazon, Telstra, NRMA Insurance, Crown, Tourism Western Australia, SMEG, HCF, a2 Milk Company, David Jones, and Art Gallery NSW.
VML appoints Richard Williams group ECD for Melbourne and Sydney
VML has appointed Richard Williams group executive creative director for its Melbourne and Sydney offices starting in September. With a career spanning almost 25 years, Williams has spent much of his professional life at Clemenger BBDO, where he has been a driving force behind some of Australia's most iconic advertising campaigns. His tenure includes a six-year stint as ECD, leading major accounts including NAB, TAC, CUB, BMW, MINI, and TABTouch.
M&C Saatchi snaps up creative duo Abby Clark and Laura Murphy
M&C Saatchi has appointed Abby Clark and Laura Murphy to the agency’s creative department. The duo were most recently at integrated creative agency MBCS, where Clark was appointed copywriter and Murphy art director in February. Clark and Murphy first joined forces at a digital and tech-focused CX agency. The duo recently came in as runners-up in the Cannes Young Lions Digital competition.
Sunday Gravy appoints Anna Camuglia general manager
Independent creative agency Sunday Gravy has appointed Anna Camuglia general manager. Camuglia has more than two decades experience in the communications industry, most recently at indie media agency Match & Wood. “We searched long and wide for this role, but after the first meeting with Anna, we knew she was the right person for the job, and instantly called off the search," Sunday Gravy co-founder Ant White said.
Bench Media promotes Sebastian Diaz and Nate Vella
Bench Media has made two senior promotions. Sebastian Diaz, previously senior digital solutions specialist, has been appointed to the newly created role of head of media innovation and Nate Vella, previously senior digital strategist, promoted to brand strategy lead. Diaz and Vella’s promotions are effective immediately.
Brittany Crowley is UM’s new head of investment, Sydney
UM has appointed Brittany Crowley head of investment, Sydney, responsible for overseeing the agency’s investment strategies across all media and integrated partnership. Crowley, reporting to UM Sydney managing director Ben McCallum, also takes up a position on UM’s national senior leadership team. Crowley was previously in senior investment roles at PHD, most recently as co-head of investment, and Mediacom.
Affinity appoints Accenture Song’s Gavin Sommer general manager
Full-service agency Affinity has appointed Gavin Sommer general manager. Sommer has more than 25 years of experience, most recently as Accenture Song's digital marketing director Sommer. "My passion lies in empowering teams to achieve strategic transformation and drive sustainable business growth," Sommer said.
Kaimera promotes Anna Magliano and Conor Riordan
Independent media agency Kaimera has promoted Conor Riordan to general manager and Anna Magliano to chief client officer. Riordan was Kaimera’s first hire with seven years at the agency and Magliano has more than five years. "Their leadership will be crucial as we navigate the evolving industry landscape and continue to stay ahead of the curve," Kaimera CEO Nick Behr said.
PHD's Josh McDonnell to Mindshare
PHD marketing director Josh McDonnell is moving to GroupM's Mindshare to be growth & marketing director. “We’re thrilled to welcome Josh to GroupM," said A GroupM spokesperson. "Josh has a great network and great understanding of the agency landscape. His background as a journalist and expertise in comms, new business and marketing make him a real asset to Mindshare and the GroupM team.”
