Jennifer Black of Havas becomes CEO of Special Europe

Jennifer Black, MD of Havas London, will be partner and CEO of Special London, joining a global team across the group’s five other international offices in Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles. The New Zealand-born independent creative group is launching in Europe with the London office. 

Mike Spirkovski leaves Saatchi & Saatchi

Chief creative officer Mike Spirkovski is leaving Saatchi & Saatchi. "After over eight incredible years ... today I hang up my hat to start something new," he says. He hasn't revealed his next move but will be staying with Publicis Group and have a for purpose focus.

Ogilvy expands strategy team

Ogilvy Network ANZ has made a series of appointments within its Melbourne office: Paul Arena joins as Head of Strategy & Planning; Mitchell Crowe-Hardy as Strategy Director; Anne Hasegawa as Strategic Planner;  Zara Cooper as Strategy Planner. 

Tim Powell is dentsu's chief PR officer, ANZ

Dentsu has promoted Tim Powell to chief PR officer, Australia and New Zealand. This is a new role for the business.  Dentsu has a strong PR offer from past acquisitions of Haystac dentsu (social, influencer engagement and consumer PR) Cox Inall (corporate, government and NFP business) and a minority share in First Nation’s business Cox Inall Ridgeway. Powell: “The task is to elevate this capability to the next level as part of an integrated dentsu offer across ANZ and create new opportunities for our 70 plus staff in the PR business." 

Medium Rare appoints Philippa Moroney head of content, fashion & beauty

Philippa Moroney has been appointed head of content, fashion & beauty at agency Medium Rare and Editor-in-Chief of David Jones' JONES magazine. Most recently she was senior fashion editor & market director at Vogue Australia. She has styled the likes of Celeste Barber, Dua Lipa and Awkwafina for editorials and red carpet appearances. 

Tribal Australia hires its first chief technology officer

Tribal Australia has appointed Juan Garcia as its first chief technology officer. He will lead the growth of the technical practice at Tribal, creating a new tech team to work on a range of technology platforms and solutions to solve even the most complex of challenges. 

Mark Cox joins Colony

Mark Cox has joined independent agency Colony as digital experience director. At Colony, Cox is working across the full roster of clients, including UNICEF, Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Kina Bank, Tramontina, Prime100 and Queensland Country Bank.

The One Centre promotes Katie Molloy to MD

The One Centre has promoted Katie Molloy to managing director. In her first move as managing director, Molloy has promoted Chloé Tribouillard from digital account director to the newly created role of media team leader, key accounts director.
