Nova Entertainment nabs Nick Young
Nova Entertainment has appointed Nick Young as chief commercial officer. Young is currently director of sales - digital and publishing at Nine Entertainment where he has been responsible for the commercialisation and data strategy for its digital and publishing platform since 2019. In his new role, Young is responsible for the development and execution of Nova Entertainment’s commercial strategy.
Dentsu Solutions finds new boss
Dentsu AUNZ has appointed Chris Bower CEO ANZ of dentsu Solutions. Bower joins from Boston Consulting Group, where he was partner & associate director and a member of the operations, retail and industrial goods practice areas. He specialised in service and support operations helping companies remove complexity and improve efficiency and effectiveness in support functions and service centres.
Publicis Groupe appoints Sport & Entertainment director
Publicis Groupe has appointed former Telstra sport sponsorship specialist Will Koukouras as national director of Publicis Sport & Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand. Koukouras is responsible for developing sport and entertainment strategies, and integrated marketing campaigns aligned to clients’ media or communications strategies.
Nunn Media’s hiring spree
Independent media agency Nunn Media has appointed Richard McCosker as group account director for its Sydney office. McCosker joins from Frontier Australia where he was senior account director. Nunn Media Sydney has also made additional hires including Melanie Otuhouma as channel planning director, James Rigby as digital manager, and Ashleigh Lord and Lien Tran as account executives.
M&C Saatchi names creative lead for Sport & Entertainment
M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment has appointed Harrie Jack as creative lead. Jack has spent the last four years building and running creative teams at Magnum & Co, and most recently Hello Social. She built the Converse All Stars influencer campaign, where she brought to life the Converse brand mission through Gen Z specific creative and content collaborations, as well as GoDaddy Office Anywhere to promote its partnership with Microsoft Office 365.
Essence bolsters local team
Global data and measurement-driven media agency Essence has strengthened its leadership team in Australia with Simon Pugh leading the agency’s Brisbane office as managing director. Theo Zisoglou is taking on an expanded remit as chief of media nationally and Celia Wright will take on the newly created role of chief growth officer.
GHO Sydney hires project delivery director
Gareth Morgan has joined brand experience agency GHO Sydney as project delivery director. Morgan has spent the past 15 years developing product workstreams, mobile apps, website implementations and creative technologies. He has previously worked in London and Australia across agencies including BBH, R/GA and Ogilvy, and on clients including Google, Land Rover and KFC.
Medium Rare names NZ boss
Medium Rare Content Agency has named Sido Kitchin as general manager of its New Zealand operations. Sido has more than 30 years’ experience in trans-Tasman media circles, including roles at Bauer Media NZ and School Road Publishing. In her new role, Kitchin is tasked with overseeing strategies, services and deliverables for existing clients as well as expanding Medium Rare’s business in New Zealand.
Lu Borges moves to the US
Lu Borges is moving from Australia to the newly created role of head of MullenLowe US brand and communications. She recently served as group communications director at creative agency BMF, creative technology agency Orchard and the Enero Group in Australia. In the US, Borges will oversee the team responsible for all agency touchpoints, including agency communications, owned channel content, thought leadership, and internal communications. She will also lead the MullenLowe US awards and industry event strategies.
Content Director for Triple M Brisbane
Radio leader Jamie Angel has been appointed content director of Triple M Brisbane. Dave Cameron, chief content officer at SCA, says Angel is one of the company’s most experienced, creative, and strategic programmers and broadcasters. "His credentials across the Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane markets, on and off air, on both the Hit and Triple M networks over three decades make him the perfect choice to lead Triple M Brisbane into its next era of success.”
We Are Explorers adds new member
Adventure travel publication We Are Explorers has appointed Alexa Hohenberg as head of production for its production house ‘Explorer Studios’. The dedicated content arm has a client roster including Tourism Australia, Jeep, Casio, The North Face and Bank Australia.
