Catch CMO switches to MyDeal
Online retail marketplace for home and lifestyle products, MyDeal.com.au, has appointed Ryan Gracie as chief marketing officer to drive the customer value proposition and brand growth. Gracie, who takes the role at the ASX-company after five years as CMO at Catch, brings more than 20 years’ marketing experience at leading brands in the retail and e-commerce sector. He has also been global marketing director of Funtastic and senior marketing roles at JB Hi-Fi and APN Online.
AANA CEO departs
CEO John Broome has chosen not to renew his contract as CEO of the AANA (Australian Association of National Advertisers). He led the AANA for four years leading the AANA . His next move is unknown. The AANA will announce an interim CEO shortly and will start an extensive search for a new CEO.
M&C Saatchi elevates James Collier
James Collier has been promoted to chief data officer at M&C Saatchi Group AUNZ. The newly created role focuses on consolidating and expanding the group’s data and analytics capability and building a marketing sciences practice to support the business’ long-term growth strategy. Collier will retain his current role of partner and head of performance at Bohemia Group, with his new position expanding his responsibilities beyond media to support all group agencies.
Digitas appoints new MD
Publicis Groupe digital marketing agency Digitas Australia has appointed Rebecca Zemunik managing director. She starts in July. Zemunik arrives from Publicis Sapient after four years with the digital business transformation firm, most recently as senior director business development and alliances. She brings with her more than 20 years’ experience spanning tech, consulting and telco.
VMLY&R promotes Sarah Bailey
VMLY&R has promoted Sarah Bailey to the role of Melbourne managing director. Bailey moves up from her current role as managing partner. Prior to joining VMLY&R in early 2019, she was partner at Mr Smith Projects and previously held senior roles at Ogilvy and DDB Melbourne where she was also managing partner.
Starcom Sydney's new digital boss
Starcom Sydney has appointed Sarah Tillitt as head of digital. Tillitt returns to Publicis Groupe, after roles including as group media director at Performics based in the US. She was also performance director at Match Media, an agency which was acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2015. Most recently, Tillitt was at OMD where she led the development and delivery of digital strategy, encompassing media, data and technology for her clients.
Chris Oxley takes national role at Foxtel
Foxtel Media announced the promotion of Chris Oxley to the role of national head of digital sales. Oxley has been the head of programmatic at Foxtel Media for the past two years. He first joined Foxtel Media (then MCN) as national youth and music sales manager in 2011.
JCDecaux's Nicole Papaz joins Foxcatcher
Marketing data and technology specialist Foxcatcher, part of RyanCap, has appointed Nicole Papaz as growth and partnerships lead. Papaz will leverage her sales and strategy experience in her new role and will be responsible for leading new business development and nurturing existing client relationships. She leaves her current role as group manager strategic audience solutions at JCDecaux to join Foxcatcher. Prior to this role, she was client strategist at Fairfax Media.
Emotive names senior producer
Creative agency Emotive has appointed Gemma Atkinson as senior producer, further strengthening its production unit. With a background in documentaries, including Foxtel’s 2018 The Pacific: In The Wake Of Captain Cook with Sam Neill, Atkinson has produced and production managed a range of projects spanning film, television, advertising and live events around the globe. On the advertising front, she has worked with brands including Google, NAB, YouTube, Myer, Destination NSW, ASICS, Optus, HCF, The Sydney Opera House and Bendigo Bank, and in 2019 produced the award-winning Country Pub Project campaign for Airbnb while working with VERSUS.
TBWA Sydney hires brand director
TBWA Group Sydney has appointed Zoe Wilkinson to the newly created role of brand director. Wilkinson's initial remit in Sydney will be to lead the agency’s PR and marketing activities across the group’s portfolio of agencies: TBWA Sydney, Eleven, Fleishman Hillard, BOLT and Fabric.
Interplay Media makes two senior hires
Specialist sport, music, and gaming programmatic agency Interplay Media today announced two senior hires with Nick Splitter appointed general manager of the digital publishing business, Zero Digital Media, and Jarryn Evertzen as national sales manager. Splitter’s remit will be to continue to grow the Zero Digital Media publishing business as it attracts new users to its various brands. Evertzen will focus on driving commercial growth across the business nationally, leveraging his experience of working with some of Australia’s largest brands and agencies during his 12 years in the sales and advertising space, specialising in digital, creative and programmatic solutions.
