Movers & Shakers: M&C Saatchi, oOh!media, MiQ, Five by Five, JOLT

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

M&C Saatchi appoints Tanya Vragalis MD

M&C Saatchi has appointed Tanya Vragalis managing director. Vragalis joins the executive leadership team with a focus on leading M&C’s client delivery model with Woolworths Group's Greenhouse Collective. Vragalis is not new to M&C Saatchi, having previously worked with the agency in 2017-18 leading CommBank. Since then, she has made significant strides at TBWA before her return, with experience in telco, tourism, financial services, and retail.

oOh!media appoints Emmalee Crellin head of data sales

oOh!media has appointed Emmalee Crellin to the newly created role of head of data sales. Crellin will be responsible for supporting data-led campaign solutions, streamlining client interactions with the oOh! network and making it easier to achieve their advertising objectives through targeted campaigns. Working within the sales support team and reporting to Ivan Gridchin, group director - product, data sales & solutions, Crellin will leverage oOh!’s out of home data agreement with Unpacked by Flybuys, as well as the partnership with Westpac DataX.

Deloitte's Adrian Mills and Matt Lawson go independent

Admen Adrian Mills and Matt Lawson will establish an independent agency and formally separate from Deloitte Digital from mid September. The agency will be called ATime&Place and will deliver advertising work for top tier brands, including Deloitte. Deloitte Digital is re-balancing its offering portfolio to focus on customer and brand strategy, integrated customer experience design, marketing technology implementation and marketing, sales and service transformation. Mills and Lawson joined Deloitte Digital in 2017 from McCann and went on to establish creative, brand and advertising services.

Mark Anderson takes over as Five by Five Global MD

Independent agency Five by Five Global has named Mark Anderson as its new MD. He will manage the integrated agency’s operations in Australia. Anderson will replace the incumbent MD and founder, Matt Lawton, who is moving into a globally-led position within the parent company, Lawton Communications Group.

JOLT appoints Randall Taylor senior data, strategy and insights manager

Australia’s sustainable digital-out-of-home media and EV charging network JOLT has appointed data strategist Randall Taylor as its new senior data, strategy and insights manager. Based in JOLT’s Sydney office, Taylor will support the full breadth of JOLT’s business, using his experience to leverage both JOLT’s first-party customer data, along with third-party data partners, to create audience-led insights for brands.

MiQ appoints Aaron Macarthur ANZ director of business development

Global programmatic media partner MiQ has named Aaron Macarthur director of business development for Australia and New Zealand. In the newly created role, Macarthur will focus on developing commercial growth opportunities across MiQ in Australia and New Zealand, reporting to MiQ ANZ commercial director, Stuart Parker. Macarthur brings 15 years of strategy, media and commercial experience to MiQ, with significant media technology and product experience across a range of verticals, including government, banking, technology, entertainment, automotive and travel.

Lachlan Brahe becomes chair of IAB Retail Media Council

Lachlan Brahe, Cashrewards' GM of retail media, has been appointed the inaugural chair of the IAB Australia Retail Media Council. The council, which was founded in 2023, helps set standards, educates and drives collaboration across the retail media industry. Over the last year the Council released a range of resources to help support the evolution of the local industry including launching its Foundations of Retail Media e-learning program. It also released the first wave of Retail Media State of the Nation research and delivered a definitive Retail Media Glossary of Terms. 

HOYTS announces two promotions

Ellisa Woodham, currently GM of sales and partnerships for Australia and New Zealand for entertainment company HOYTS, has been promoted to the senior leadership team as director of partnerships and sales. Christina Langdon has ALSO been promoted to the newly created role of GM of cinema operations from her current role of area manager in Melbourne.

YouGov appoints Marc Ryan as CPO

YouGov has appointed Marc Ryan as its chief product officer (CPO), effective September 3, to lead the market research company's suite of audience intelligence, brand tracking and behavioural products. His initial focus will be on YouGov’s data products, setting YouGov’s long-term product vision across its entire product ecosystem, including cross-product convergence. He joins from SCUBA Analytics where he was CPO and previously served at Kantar as both its chief data officer and chief product and technology officer, as well as holding senior positions at Nielsen.
