Editorial board for The Australian as Michelle Gunn appointed editor-in-chief
Michelle Gunn appointed editor-in-chief of The Australian. She has been editor of The Australian since May 2020 and before that, was the editor of The Weekend Australian for eight years.
The Works lands Johnnie McGinness and promotes Jacq Henderson
The Works, part of Capgemini, has appointed Johnnie McGinness customer engagement lead and promoted Jacq Henderson strategist. McGinness joins The Works from Oracle CX Consulting where he partnered with organisations in multiple sectors across JAPAC, enabling them to bring their brands, business goals, and digital marketing strategies to fruition. Jacq Henderson has been promoted to strategist after joining the agency as a junior strategist in 2021.
Dan Healy named CEO of APAC for Tag
Tag, a global creative production partner to brands and agencies, has appointed Dan Healy CEO for Asia-Pacific. He replaces Toby Codrington, who will move to New York and assume the role of CEO of Americas for Tag.
Medium Rare adds two senior editors
Medium Rare has appointed Lisa Green as editor in chief of Bunnings magazine and Genevra Leek as content director at Qantas & Travel Insider. Green, who will report to Julie Lee, head of content for Food & Homes, has spent more than two decades at the helm of magazine including The Australian Women’s Weekly and Australian House & Garden. Leek, who will report to Kirsten Galliott, head of content for Travel & Luxury, brings more than 20 years of editorial experience, having relaunched ELLE magazine before serving as its editor in chief.
SPEED makes three senior appointments
Independent media agency SPEED has appointed three senior executives following a year of adding clients. Milli Singson joins as lead data scientist, Nikki McColl is client director and Rob Maxwell investment director.
Howatson+Company appoints The Works' Kristie Thistlethwaite managing partner
Kristie Thistlethwaite joins independant agency Howatson+Company as managing partner. With 15 years experience Kristie started her career in London before moving to Sydney and The Works 6 years ago to lead the Optus, News Corp, LG, Aware Super and Goodman Fielder business.
Zitcha appoints Nick Hinsley chief revenue officer
Australian independent retail media platform Zitcha has named Nick Hinsley the company’s chief revenue officer. Formerly the senior vice president of sales for customer data platform Lexer, Hinsley has a 20-year career including a wealth of experience in sales that has equipped him to shepherd revenue growth as the company gears up for an ambitious North American expansion.
Blobfish International appoints Red Bull's Jake Kerr campaign co-ordinator
Activation and sampling network Blobfish International has appointed Jake Kerr as campaign co-ordinator. Kerr will be responsible for supporting the Blobfish International team on campaign delivery, client service and helping to grow the business via social media and new partner on-boarding.
Michael Buhagiar rejoins BigAds
BigAds, an Australasian-based creative intelligence & optimisation adtech company, has announced that Michael Buhagiar has re-joined the business, along with Nick Paschalis, to spear head growth in the US & NZ.
Former Audi CMO Nikki Warburton joins CarExpert
Automotive marketplace CarExpert has appointed Nikki Warburton as non-executive board director. Warburton has also made a personal investment in the CarExpert business, which recently closed its funding round that also included Perth Billionaire Laurence Escalate.
