It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

Brent Smart becomes CMO Telstra
Brent Smart has been appointed CMO of Telstra. Smart starts in September, replacing Jeremy Nicholas, who will be Telstra’s digital channels executive.

Lucy Formosa Morgan becomes MD of MAGNA Australia
Lucy Formosa Morgan has been appointed managing director of IPG Mediabrands’ media intelligence and investment division, MAGNA Australia. She replaces Nick Durrant who is off soon on a lengthy sabbatical.

Liana Dubois promoted to CMO at Nine
Nine has promoted Liana Dubois to the newly-created role of chief marketing officer. Dubois will be responsible for Nine’s total marketing and brand strategy to accelerate audience and revenue growth across its diverse suite of assets, including television, radio, publishing, digital.

Clemenger BBDO's Ryan Fitzgerald joins Special as ECD Melbourne
Independent creative agency Special Australia has hired Ryan Fitzgerald as executive creative director in Melbourne.The appointment is the beginning of a new phase of the agency’s Melbourne expansion.

Kantar Australia promotes Bethan Hockey to head of sustainability
Kantar has appointed Bethan Hockey to the newly created head of sustainability role for Kantar Australia’s insights division.Hockey also brings a wealth of experience in FMCG sustainability, advising on everything from packaging innovation and communication to the development of thought leadership to mobilise businesses and inform strategy.

Bastion Amplify hires three for the social team
Independent Bastion Amplify is expanding its social media offering, hiring three senior industry specialists: Nicola Swankie, Katy Andrews and Nel Wolf. These hires come with growth of the social offering at Bastion Amplify. As well as being Microsoft and Xbox’s retained social agency, the business has secured an impressive slate of clients including Harris Scarfe and Toll Ambulance and Rescue.

SCA unveils new sales leadership team
SCA chief sales officer Brian Gallagher has announced a new sales leadership team. Andrea Salmon has been appointed national head of radio sales.Dan O’Callaghan is the new head of digital audio sales and was previously national sales manager at SCA. Trevor Crook joins the sales leadership teamas head of client services and partnerships. 

GroupM's Maddy Mewing to head Magnite publisher accounts
Magnite has appointed Maddy Mewing seller lead in Australia, covering Nikola Small’s role while she is on maternity leave. She will head Magnite’s growing publisher accounts team and develop key relationships with broadcaster and publisher clients.

Think HQ appoints Som Sengmany as multicultural insights director
Think HQ has enhanced its diverse communications arm CultureVerse with the appointment of specialist multicultural communications practitioner and qualitative researcher Doctor Som Sengmany as insights director. Sengmany has worked across a range of sectors, including state and local government and not-for-profit community health, most recently as strategic communications and engagement adviser to Whitehorse City Council.

JCDecaux NZ appoints Mike Brown

Mike Brown thas been appointed account director – direct at JCDecaux New Zealand. Brown joins from MediaWorks NZ where he spent over two and a half years as national sales manager. He previously spent more than nine years at iSite Media Limited and almost two years at Val Morgan.

Rai Campbell appointed commercial director at Jaywing and Frank Digital
Performance marketing agency Jaywing and user-experience agency Frank Digital have appointed Rai Campbell commercial director, to drive business across the recently integrated agencies. Campbell joins Jaywing and Frank Digital after more than five years as head of strategy at Yoghurt Digital.

Majella Wiemers joins Seven as head of entertainment

The Seven Network has appointed Majella Wiemers to the new role of head of entertainment. Wiemers, reporting to Seven’s director of production, Andrew Backwell, will join Seven later this year and will be responsible for the network’s slate of entertainment programs, including The Voice, Australian Idol and AGT.

72andSunny with four new hires
72andSunny hired four in Brand Management and Employee Experience. Mags Rose joins as Project Lead, responsible for leading client projects. Roz Cooper joins as employee experience lead. Molly Mohr returns as a brand director after a 12 month sabbatical. and Katie Henderson joins as a brand manager.
