Showpony Adelaide MD steps back to GM
Sophie Allchurch, general manager at Showpony Adelaide, has stepped down from the role of managing director after three years to become general manager. Allchurch told AdNews she made the decision to step back for family reasons. Supported by the agency's leadership, Allchurch now has reduced hours to do school pick-ups with no impact externally or to the day-to-day running of the Adelaide office.
GroupM New Zealand appoints Dom Dipple
GroupM New Zealand has appointed Dom Dipple as strategist. The newly created role marks the latest of several appointments at GroupM New Zealand in recent months under new CEO John Halpin. Dipple will report to Emily Scovell, who joined in December as chief strategy officer, together they will work closely with the leadership and client teams in GroupM agencies EssenceMediacom, Wavemaker and Mindshare to deliver strategic thinking.
Avid Collective hires former Junkee Media executive Niki Jones
Avid Collective has appointed former Scout Publishing and Junkee Media executive Niki Jones head of enablement and operations. In the newly created role, Jones will be responsible for overseeing operational activities across various arms of the business with a focus on partner engagement. She will be part of Avid Collective’s leadership team and report to commercial director, Ezechiel Ritchie.
ex-Google executive Billy Kinchin joins Vudoo as CPO
Vudoo, the content commerce and in-stream checkout platform, has appointed Billy Kinchin as chief product officer. Reporting to CEO Nick Morgan, Kinchin will oversee Vudoo's global product strategy and development. Kinchin's responsibilities will include aligning Vudoo's offerings with the evolving needs of the advertising technology and e-commerce space, as well as ensuring Vudoo's solutions provide high value and relevance to its global clients.
Ian De Vlieger named Nine's director of enterprise technology services
Ian De Vlieger has been appointed Nine's director of enterprise technology services, joining Nine’s technology leadership team and reporting to chief information and technology officer, Memo Hayek. He will take on a strategic role, overseeing responsibility for its IT service management, digital workplace/end user compute, and applications support teams.
The Sweetshop Australia appoints Kate Roydhouse executive producer
The Sweetshop Australia has appointed Kate Roydhouse to its leadership team as executive producer. Basing herself in the Sydney office, Roydhouse will be a familiar face to many in the industry as she has been working alongside Ben Dailey in the Sweetshop New Zealand office for the last five years.
Vistar Media hires one and promotes three
Luke Adams has been hired by Vistar Media to take on the newly created role of director of enterprise sales, APAC. Winston Stening has taken on the leadership role of group sales manager, while Tom Newton has been promoted to the role of senior account director. Shannon Randall has been named senior human resources business partner, APAC.
The Pistol hires two and promotes two
Ashley Grey comes from Havas Melbourne becomes group account director at The Pistol. Yulia Edirisinghe and Julia Lake have also been promoted to positions of group account director and measurement lead.
Carly Bowra becomes Are Media's director of marketing
Carly Bowra has become Are Media's director of marketing. She joins Are Media after roles as head of marketing – creative and head of brand and category marketing at BIG W; head of strategic marketing projects at BWS; and head of campaign and creative at Woolworths Supermarkets. Most recently, she was a marketing consultant at Seven Network.
NAB CMO Suzana Ristevski becomes Google's marketing leader
