Movers & Shakers: Atomic 212°, Havas Host, PHD, TABOO, Mutinex, Neighbourhood Strategy

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

Emma Wood promoted to PHD Sydney’s head of investment

Emma Wood has been promoted to PHD Sydney’s head of investment. Woods, currently Sydney's co-head of investment, will assume full responsibility for the Sydney investment product, supported by an elevated team structure within the agency. Woods has been with PHD for three years and has worked across a range of categories and brands including global key accounts PepsiCo and CHANEL, and was the first to co-create and deliver an end to end converged screens campaign in Australia. 

Alastair Baker promoted to chief planning officer at Havas Media Network

Havas Media Australia has promoted Alastair Baker to chief planning officer, a newly created role. Baker, previously head of planning, has a 15 year career, working across media, creative and digital agencies in the UK and Australia. He has worked at agencies including Dentsu X UK, Vizeum UK and iProspect (a Dentsu company) in Melbourne. “I’m energised by Havas’ investment in technology and data to deliver best-in-market solutions for clients," Baker said.

TABOO hires Charlotte Adorjan as executive creative director

Independent agency TABOO has appointed Charlotte Adorjan executive creative director. The London native brings more than two decades of experience, including 17 years at AMV BBDO, and has won awards for her work for Cancer Research UK, The Lottery, Snickers, Bumble and The Met Police. Her arrival follows other leadership hires, including Frannie Rhodes as managing partner, leading TABOO's talent and operations from MullenLowe US, Kim Stoddart as director of dinance from Clemenger Group, and Jonathan Issacs as chairman, also from Clemenger.  

Danny Bass joins Mat Baxter at start-up Mutinex

Danny Bass, the former CEO of Dentsu ANZ and IPG MediaBrands Australia, is joining marketing measurement start-up Mutinex as chief revenue officer. He joins Mutinex APAC CEO Mat Baxter and global CEO and co-founder Henry Innis. Bass was ousted as Dentsu Media CEO in April during a long foreshadowed restructure of the Japan-based advertising group.

Lorraine Wood promoted to Atomic 212° chief investment & trading officer

Independent media agency Atomic 212° has appointed Lorraine Wood to the new role of chief investment & trading officer, effective immediately. Wood, previously national head of trading, has been a member of the Atomic 212° team since 2016, when she joined the agency as national group trading director. She has also held senior roles at MediaCom, ZenithOptimedia and Carat. Atomic 212° has also appointed Alexandra Thomas as national trading lead. She joins the agency from EssenceMediaCom, where she was marketplace group director. Thomas has also worked at Carat, Bohemia Group and Ikon Communications.

Havas Host appoints The Royals' Sebastian Vizor executive creative director

Creative agency Havas Host has appointed Sebastian Vizor executive creative director. Vizor will oversee clients creative direction and consolidates the agency's leadership team for a new era. Vizor joins with two decades of experience, most recently from The Royals where he led the creative department after returning to Australia from Europe. Overseas Vizor worked in leading agencies including Sid Lee, B Reel, and 72andSunny. 

Marie Joyce becomes Mamamia's head of sales for Victoria

Marie Joyce has been promoted to head of sales, Victoria, at Mamamia. This newly created role positions her as the Melbourne market lead, overseeing operations and becoming a member of the national senior leadership team. She joined Mamamia in 2021 and has held the roles of head of audio, Victoria and was recently in the role of head of sales, agency.

Clemenger's Mike Ronkoske joins Neighbourhood Strategy

Independent creative consultancy Neighbourhood Strategy has appointed Mike Ronkoske head of strategy. Ronkoske joins after five years at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne where he worked as strategy partner across TAC, Ford, Myer, PTV and Department of Education. Prior Ronkoske worked extensively in the US at agencies including Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Venables Bell and Partners and Saatchi & Saatchi LA. Ronkoske will lead the consultancy’s product with a particular focus on the creative agency market.

CX Lavender appoints Optus' Francesca Tschuchnigg

Independent full-service customer experience agency CX Lavender has expanded its senior strategy team with the appointment of Francesca Tschuchnigg to CX and innovation director. Tschuchnigg joins from Optus as a CX design lead, where she led both core product and the Optus Sport customer experience and innovation teams. Her experience also spans agency and media owner side. Tschuchnigg will now oversee CX innovation and digital product delivery at CX Lavender. She will work closely with digital design partner Stan Cheung and report to CSO Kim Verbrugghe.

Sian Whitaker promoted to MD of Broadsheet

Broadsheet has promoted Sian Whitaker to managing director. She has been with Broadsheet since 2018 and has served as general manager for the past three and a half years. "My focus will be on making sure our great ideas translate to real results. As always, I'm committed to fostering a high-performance culture and driving business success," Whitaker said. "I can't wait to see what we achieve next."

Josh Fitzgerald promoted to GM of Revolution360

Out-of-home (OOH) agency Revolution360 has named Josh Fitzgerald general manager. In the newly created role, Fitzgerald, who was promoted from national sales director, will oversee the Sydney and Melbourne sales teams, as well as business operations. He began his journey at Revolution360 as Victorian head of sales. Before joining the team, he held pivotal roles at APN Outdoor, SEN Radio and Channel Nine.

Andrew Kent becomes CEO of digital agency Sod

Melbourne digital design agency Sod (previously Straight Out Digital) has appointed Andrew Kent as its first CEO. With an extensive background spanning media, IT, web development and marketing, Kent was previously a part-owner and operator of multiple businesses, including Growth Creators, a consulting firm dedicated to sustained business growth.

Google's Ryan Ferguson is Snap's new head of sales

Social media player Snap Inc has appointed Ryan Ferguson head of sales in Australia. He spent more than 16 years at Google where he held a range of senior roles in the APAC region including ANZ director, Google Customer Solutions, APAC head of travel and head of Adtech Platforms in ANZ and Singapore.

TFM Digital expands senior team 

Tim Harper-Russell, former group business director at Wavemaker, has been appointed general manager at franchise marketing specialist TFM Digital. He will lead the day-to-day running of the agency while founder Taylor Fielding moves to a newly created CEO role. Zaine Wilson-Hoyle has been appointed head of digital. 

The Trade Desk’s Emma Shepherd moves to AFFINITY

Full-service agency AFFINITY has appointed Emma Shepherd communications director. She joins from The Trade Desk, a global platform for ad buyers, where she was editorial content manager, APAC. She is a former trade journalist and editor.
