Movers & Shakers: Alchemy One, CHEP, Dentsu, Unltd, Paramount

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

CHEP hires M&C Saatchi's Catherine Mellon
CHEP Network has appointed Catherine Mellon executive strategy director, joining the agency’s national strategy leadership team. Mellon joins from M&C Saatchi, where she led strategy for a range of high-profile clients including Commonwealth Bank, Baiada Brands, Woolworths, Sydney Opera House, Minderoo and more.

Alchemy One appoints Jeremy Chaker digital director
Media agency Alchemy One has appointed Jeremy Chaker digital director. Chaker will be responsible for delivering digital solutions to clients and will be critical in the growth of the agency’s activation team.

Simon Hobbs joins Icon Agency
Integrated communications firm Icon Agency has appointed Simon Hobbs as executive director of digital. Hobbs will lead Icon’s digital department with a focus on new business development and optimising the team’s processes and systems.

Media appoints home & lifestyle editor 
Katya Wachtel, Broadsheet Media’s editorial director, has appointed Jo Walker home & lifestyle editor to lead editorial coverage for a new section. Walker was editor of Frankie Magazine for nine years. She then moved into the position of editor-in-chief where she directed editorial on digital and traditional channels across brands: Frankie Magazine, Frankie books, Smith Journal, and Slow Living.

Judith Whelan appointed ABC editorial director
The ABC appointed Judith Whelan editorial director. The current ABC director of regional and local is a former editor of the Sydney Morning Herald. She replaces Craig McMurtrie who is leaving the ABC. Whelan starts in February. 

Man of Many appoints Harry Parsons branded content manager
Man of Many has bolstered its strategic branded content offering with the appointment of former News Corp product integration manager – Food, Travel and Prestige Titles, Harry Parsons, as branded content manager.

UnLtd board announces two new co-chairs
UnLtd, the social purpose organisation for the media, marketing and creative industries, has announced new co-chairs for its board of directors. Adam Furness, APAC managing director at Impact.com, will be sharing the role with Rebecca Darley, CMO at Domain.

Dentsu Creative announces global leadership role
Dentsu Creative has announced key members of its global leadership team. Andrea Terrassa has been named global chief operating officer; Iván Czwan Altobelli, global chief people officer; Julie Scelzo, global clients chief creative officer and Jon Dupuis, global clients president.

Dentsu Creative's eight new hires
Dentsu Creative’s Melbourne office has grown with eight new appointments, including a creative director. Trent Hendrick is creative director, with Katie Britton, Monique Horsley, Kean Szczur, Mathew Hine, Tosh Greenslade, Lilly Woolmering and Leighton Howindt, also recently appointed.

Paramount ANZ appoints head of national advertising strategy
Paramount Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) has promoted Namita Sopal to a newly created role of head of national advertising strategy to lead the network’s market approach and collaborate with key clients to co-create strategic campaigns.
