Mike Fritz appointed creative director at Engine

Mike Fritz, after re-joining Engine in September 2022 as senior creative, has been promoted to creative director.

With a career in advertising spanning 20 plus years, his work has been recognised at award shows locally, in New York and Cannes Lions Festivals.

Previous roles include positions at Leo Burnett Melbourne, DDB Melbourne, BWM Melbourne, Clemenger BBDO Brisbane and his own creative consultancy, St Dakota.

“Mike champions creativity with every breath. But most importantly he’s someone I trust," says Managing Director Tim Weger said.

"Whilst responsible for the agency’s creative product, he sees the whole picture and will work alongside me as the agency enters its next phase of growth.

“I first worked with Mike when he was a junior creative but now as a father, husband and creative leader… he’s hungrier than ever. He has an ambitious and inspired plan for Engine and is keen to partner with the best folk to deliver work that is brave, beautifully-crafted and importantly creates result for our clients.

“In this game we really do make magic. Mike will create a healthy creative tension in the place that leads to incredible work whilst having a heap of fun along the way.”

Fritz said the team at Engine is revolutionising the concept of success, demonstrating that exceptional work thrives outside the confines of hustle culture.
