Senior advertising figures Sunita Gloster and Brendon Cook have been recognised in the King’s Birthday honours list for their industry work.
Gloster, the founder of Gloster Advisory and a former CEO of the AANA, has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
The active non-executive director, who started her advertising career in Adelaide, is also an advocate for women’s rights.
Brendon Cook, the founder of oOh!Media, has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
Dubbed the “father” of OOH in Australia by one AdNews reader following the announcement of his departure at the start of 2020, Cook has made a significant mark in the industry.
He was a founding member of industry body Outdoor Media Association and was instrumental in developing the MOVE (Measurement of Outdoor Visibility and Exposure) project, a system that allowed for improved accuracy in reporting measurable outcomes to clients using OOH media.
He is also the international vice-president of global OOH industry body Federation European Publicite Exterieur (FEPE). Cook was the first Australian to sit on the board in the organisation’s 50-year history.
