Shares in media companies took a beating on the ASX, caught up in widespread selling as global markets reacted to an escalating US-China trade war.
WPP AUNZ fell as much as 12%. A short time ago it was at 60 cents, down 8.4%.
Nine dropped 3.5% to $1.837, Seven West media 4.7% to $0.40, and News Corp 2.7% to $18.88.
Among other players, Ooh!Media was down 4% to $4.205, Swift Media 8.3% to $0.22, QMS 4.8% to $0.875, and Village Roadshow 3.4% to $2.395.
Wall Street fell overnight with the Dow Jones index losing 767 points or 2.9%. The S&P500 fell 3% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq 3.5%.
On the Australian market, the ASX200 was at 6,493.00, down 147.30 points or 2.22%
