EXCLUSIVE: McCann Sydney has appointed Lowe Sydney communication strategist Carl Gallagher as strategy director, replacing Mark Pollard, who left the agency in March.
Gallagher started at the agency this week, and is working across the McCann Erickson and McCann Healthcare businesses, with a particular focus on key clients such as Kimberly-Clark and MasterCard.
McCann Worldgroup chief executive Chris Mort told AdNews: “Over the past couple of years, McCann has been making a particular effort to change its skill base and to become a contemporary communications agency. Carl’s skills in the branding and digital space fit into this strategy, and are at the core of what we are now doing.”
Gallagher said: “I was really attracted to McCann’s buzz and energy. There is some real momentum in terms of change at the agency, and a great deal of optimism, which I immediately wanted to be a part of."
“Strategy, and in particular digital strategy, is becoming increasingly important within creative agencies. Clients want to see stronger return on investment, and strategic direction provides creative ideas with the thought and substance they’re looking for.”
